MOYES SELLERS & SIMS has an extensive water and power law and general natural resources practice that includes representation on water, electric power, natural gas, public lands, agricultural practices, and real estate issues, involving large agricultural properties, master-planned development projects, golf courses, independent power generation and transmission projects, mines, municipalities and public and private utilities in Arizona and the western United States. We have represented numerous electric generation development projects in the siting approval and regulatory permitting processes, as well as providing general consultation and guidance on all aspects of such development, from initial site investigation and selection through construction and commercial operation. We provide counsel on matters concerning the ongoing general stream adjudications, wetlands issues, the 1980 Groundwater Code, Colorado River matters, Arizona surface water rights, effluent reuse, the Central Arizona Project, the Endangered Species Act and Indian water rights settlement negotiations. We regularly represent our clients’ environmental, natural resources and utility interests before the Arizona Legislature, the Arizona Departments of Water Resources, Environmental Quality, and State Lands, the Arizona Corporation Commission, the Western Area Power Administration, and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.
